Baselworld 2019: Introducing Seiko’s Prospex LX Collection, Tool Watches for Land, Sea, and Sky

Watch

Pulling motivation from Seiko’s unbelievable hey beat jumper delivered right back in 1968, Seiko’s most up to date Prospex LX line proceeds with the ethos put forward 50 years prior. Obviously, Seiko isn’t one to become complacent, so they’ve collaborated with Ken Okuyama Design, most popular for their work in the car business, to inject the assortment with an advanced, energetic flavor while as yet guaranteeing Seiko’s famous DNA stays flawless. Most energizing is that this whole line comes furnished with Seiko’s 5R Spring Drive type, which today is by and large consigned to Seiko’s Grand Seiko and Credor ranges.

All the watches in this first assortment are themed around land, ocean, or sky. Land has a GMT complication and compass bezel; sky has a GMT hand and a bi-directional bezel for following an extra timezone; and ocean includes a uni-directional plunging bezel.

There are six references in the assortment, and each of the six are delivered in titanium and are Zaratsu cleaned. There are three particular plans, and the other three are essentially clones, yet delivered in a strategic monochromatic shading way and got done with a “black super-hard” covering.

Overall, I like the appearance of these watches, and I figure Seiko worked effectively at separating each model around a topical idea. Ref. SNR033 is particularly beautiful, and to the extent usefulness goes, it’s the reasonable champ in my book with an ideal blend of specs. One purpose of interest is the contrasting water obstruction evaluations between the three essential models, which all crease to share a comparative case similarly as fundamental development goes.

The Prospex LX assortment is an intriguing direction for the Prospex family, proceeding with the pattern began by the restricted version legacy arrivals of the most recent few years. These are very good quality watches flaunting unbelievable developments, astounding completing, and, in all honesty, I’d contend that it’s a disgrace Seiko didn’t incorporate these under the Grand Seiko pennant. Stay tuned for extra inclusion and live pics.  Seiko
