Perhaps the most foreseen arrivals of this year’s Baselworld was without a doubt the Seiko Ref. SLA033, which brings back, but in an exceptionally restricted release, the amazing 6105 jumper, put on the map for its appearance in Apocalypse Now. Yet, past that cinema appearance the watch is darling in light of the fact that it’s quintessential Seiko. From the case shape to the dial design, the 6105 is a bedrock for what Seiko’s done since, so it’s energizing to see it back, regardless of whether it’s in a particularly little creation run. You can peruse more about the first here .
As our own special Christoph noted in his underlying writeup, this is certifiably not a one-for-one reissue. There are some little, yet noteable, changes, among them a sapphire precious stone instead of Hardlex, a more dependable screw-down crown, and the top of the line 8L35 caliber.
